
About the Role
Schedule:
• Day shift/ Evening Shift
• Monday to Saturday
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging, and hands-on culinary lessons for children aged 2-17.
Plan and teach curriculum to meet the diverse needs and interests of students, ensuring alignment with our company's mission and goals.
Manage the classroom effectively, fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students.
Provide guidance and support to Assistant Instructors, ensuring effective collaboration and teamwork in the classroom.
Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on their children's progress and addressing any concerns.
Collaborate with other instructors and company management to continuously improve our programs and maintain high-quality educational experiences.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Assist with the planning and execution of special events, such as student showcases or community outreach initiatives.
Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining incident reports, sign-in logs, petty cash boxes, and log books.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of professional culinary experience, preferably with a focus on teaching or working with children.
Previous experience in the field of recreation, coaching, and/or childcare programs is recommended.
Degree or certification in culinary arts, education, or a related field is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of all ages.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young chefs to develop their culinary skills and creativity.
Familiarity with various cooking techniques, cuisines, and dietary requirements.
A valid food handler's certificate or willingness to obtain one prior to employment.
A background check is required, as you will be working directly with children.
COVID-19 considerations:
All staff will wear facial masks, except while eating and in the water. Health checks will be conducted before campers are admitted. Staff will conduct periodic cleaning of all equipment. All precautions regarding COVID-19 are subject to change.
This is a summer seasonal position from June to August 2023, with the possibility of extension depending on enrollments.*
We have camp locations in Inglewood, Long Beach, Hawthorne, Gardena and Carson.
